Are you tapped out for baby shower ideas? Time to put your thinking cap on and take it to the Think Tank.

Let’s see, there are balloons based on the new summer movie, “Up”. But balloons are cliché and they eventually deflate. Disney theme? Too Mickey Mouse. Baby shower ideas can be a dime a dozen or the most difficult thing to figure out. But don’t over think it. Sit back, relax and look around the house for something that may spark an idea or, watch TV and look for ideas.

Here are some baby shower ideas that might help:

• “Deal of No Deal” cases or bags for mom to carry baby’s things. A mom can’t have too many bags for all the items needed when going out of the house or going from room to room.
• Piggy banks for saving baby’s money. If everyone brings a piggy bank, it creates a great way to teach Mom, Dad and baby, the basics of saving for the future.
• “Project Runway” for women who sew. Sew a little outfit for the newborn or sew a blanket. For the ambitious, put together a quilt. Knit or crochet a little blanket or wrap.
• Practical Tips. Everyone brings an index card (or as many as they want) with tips for the expectant mother for feeding, cleaning up, ways to de-stress. Send index cards with the invitation to keep the card size uniform. Be sure to add tabbed index cards so the tips and advice can be categorized and put in a box.
