The bottom line seems to be an effort to cater to the active, busy lifestyle of parents, enabling them to do what they want and need to do, without leaving baby behind. It makes perfect sense to me, and I find myself wondering why I don’t see one on every mommy and daddy in the world.
Part of the problem may be that people don’t know which are the “best baby slings.” Websites and message boards tout a zillion different kinds, and it seems like you can find just as many mothers who love a particular brand as those who hate it. All you can do is try it out and see if it works for you.
I wouldn’t dare proclaim a hard-and-fast winner in the “best baby sling” competition. I’ve got my opinions, but I don’t want to try to convince someone else that my favorite infant sling is the answer to their problems. In this area, there’s no substitute for personal experience. Head on down to Babies-R-Us and try a few on. With all the options out there, there’s sure to be one that will work best for you.
