I grew up on the East Coast, but I made frequent summer visits to Utah as a child to visit both sets of my grandparents. As those loving grandparents have gotten older though, they need more care than an occasional visit can provide. For example, grandpa has battled heart trouble, diabetes and Parkinson’s disease while Grandma has become immobile and tired. Without moving to a different state though, there wasn’t much we could do though.

If you are in the same situation, let me recommend some solutions that we considered. I have known several adults who willingly move into retirement communities where there are comfortable homes, a vibrant social life and round-the-clock medical assistance. These facilities are often very expensive though. Another option is to hire a facility that provides Utah home health care. This option is more affordable while simultaneously allowing aged family members to enjoy the comfort of their own home. And, as their children and grandchildren, you can rest easy knowing they are getting the care they need.

Many home health care companies offer different kinds of service too which means you can pay for as little or as much health care as you need. Just make sure the personnel visiting your family are qualified to provide the services you need.
