Utah Motorcycles on the Rise

Every year on the 4th of July the Utah motorcycles Club rides through the parade route in Provo before the parade officially starts. I think they love the opportunity to show off their machinery and make lots of noise while crowds cheer, rather than yell disparaging remarks at them.

This year I was astonished to see how many Utah motorcycles were there. They just kept coming, roaring by, circling, popping wheelies, and speeding off again. Either every Utah motorcycle in the state was there, or Utah motorcycles are becoming much more popular.

I suppose that’s understandable. On the practical side, with the price of gas skyrocketing, and no relief in sight Utah motorcycles offer cost efficient alternative for transportation making them more attractive than ever. On the not so practical side, motorcycles are cool looking. And they’re fun. I dated a guy once who had a motorcycle, and I stayed in the relationship longer than I should have because I had a hard time breaking up with the bike. (Ironically enough, the guy wrecked his bike less than a week after I finally ended it.)

As my husband and I left the parade this past 4th of July, he casually asked me what my thoughts were on Utah motorcycles. I just smiled. He’ll probably be bringing one home any day.
